Getting started with Noom completely changed my life!

I’d been looking at the ads everywhere from Facebook to Pinterest for about two years before I decided to see what Noom was all about.

And I’m so glad that I did!

By monitoring my movement (or lack thereof) and eating habits (which shocked me, to be honest!), I lost 25 pounds in two months.

But honestly, my experience probably wouldn’t have been the same without two additional items:

  • Apple Watch
  • Peloton Subscription

So, I definitely recommend syncing your watch with Noom for maximum impact!

Using a fitness tracker with Noom allows you to effortlessly:

  • track your steps
  • track your exercise
  • increase your daily calories target

Is Noom compatible with Apple Watch?

Yes!

Noom is compatible with all current versions of the Apple Watch.

My mom uses a Series 3 Apple Watch with Noom and I have a Series 5.

Noom is compatible with your Apple Watch and syncing it will make your health journey SO much more enjoyable.

When you sync Noom to an activity tracker, you’ll be able to see how much your activity impacts your daily caloric allowance.

Personally, I’m trying to burn 1,000 calories a day for a very active lifestyle – I love working out on my Peloton and going for walks with my kids!

And setting this movement goal increases my Noom suggested calorie intake goal to 1,900 a day.

How to Sync Exercise with Noom

Once the app is connected to your fitness tracker, Noom automatically adds the calories burned from your Apple Watch so you can sync your workouts with Noom.

And if you use a separate fitness app like Peloton, it’ll be included in its own separate Exercise category!

  1. Open the Health app on your phone
  2. Tap your Profile Photo in the top right-hand corner of your screen
  3. Under Privacy, tap Apps
  4. Tap Peloton
  5. Under the bottom ALLOW “NOOM” TO WRITE section, turn On all categories you want to give Peloton permission to: Active Energy, Heart Rate, Mindful Minutes, Walking + Running Distance, and Workouts

If you’re finding your calorie adjustment is about twice as much as what it should be, this is probably because there’s a permissions issue.

Most likely, Noom AND your Apple Watch are both writing Active Energy data.

Been there!

To fix this, we’ll need to head back to our Health App permissions:

  1. Open the Health App on your mobile device
  2. Tap your Profile Photo at the top right
  3. In the Privacy section, tap Apps
  4. Tap Noom
  5. Turn Off Active Energy in the ALLOW “NOOM” TO WRITE category
  6. Restart the Noom app by swiping it up and away!

How to Use Apple Watch with Noom

Syncing your Apple Watch to Noom is a fantastic way to make this program even more fun.

Because like nutrition and exercise, they’re more effective when combined.

Coming from personal experience, my Apple Watch showed me just how inactive I really was while Noom taught me that I did A LOT of fog eating (mindless snacking throughout the day that was neither nutritious nor satisfied my hunger).

And while using Apple Watch and Noom together helped me lose weight and drop a couple of clothing sizes, those aren’t the only benefits.

Creating healthy habits and feeling better every day have got to be my favorite effects of all!

I hope you found this guide helpful and would love to hear about your Noom experience 🙂
